April 14, 2009 Country93 Video Dance The second annual Country93 Video Dance Party is scheduled for May 30, 2009 at the Wiarton Arena. For more details, click here. February 25, 2009 Results of Ladies' Open Bonspiel On Saturday, February 21, the club hosted its annual Tournament of Hearts Ladies’ Open Bonspiel. Convenors Donna Stewart and Carol Myhill did a great job of organizing and running the event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The 9:00 draw was won by the team of Briana Bloomfield (Skip), Jenna Long (Vice), Brenda Long (Second), and Brenda Meades (Lead). The 11:00 draw was won the Wiarton team of Nancy Strang (Skip), Bea Ewing (Vice), Carol Smith (Second), and Mary Hayward (Lead). Congratulations ladies! August 27, 2008 Club Receives Donation from OPG At noon on Wednesday July 9, 2008, a luncheon was held at the Wiarton & District Curling Club with special guest Lynda Cain, Senior Communications Advisor for Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Also in attendance were most members of the curling club's executive, as well as several junior curlers and their parents. On this occasion, Ms. Cain presented a cheque on behalf of her company in the amount of $1,000, which will go to support the club and its Junior Curling program. Thank you OPG!
